Summary

In the last few decades, scientists have become increasingly aware of the fact that the laws of physics seem precisely “fine-tuned” for the existence of complex life. In this lesson we will define over twenty processes and events that are necessary for life on Earth.

In addition to the PPt presentation, a twenty minute snippet from the DVD, Privileged Planet, will be shown. Due to the addition of the DVD, this lesson will be broken into two parts. Part 2 will be presented on January 2, 2018.

This series will demonstrate that the Earth and its local environment provide a delicate and exceedingly rare place for complex life.
